QUILTS OF UNDERSTANDING
CELEBRATING COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Quilts of Understanding - Celebrating Community Connections is an initiative of the Wellington Shire Planning Group for the International Day of People with a DisAbility for 2002. This Celebration of Ability takes place every year on 3 December. 450 calico squares were sent out to groups throughout the community, with a request to decorate them in any way - quilting, applique, painting, collage - the lot!
In all 331 squares were made into 14 quilts at the CWA-SNAP Craft Co-operative in Sale.
The Quilts will be on display next
possible.
But if you are looking for your own square, you will be able to see it in the quilts.
A Schedule of Exhibition Dates is being arranged for the coming year. To suggest possible dates and venues, contact Frances Ford, phone 5142 3464 at Wellington Shire.
