Crazy Patchwork and other Courses
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sale CWA is developing a range of courses to share our joy in
Crazy Patchwork, Embroidery and other Sewing.
Please call back often as we will advertise set dates on this page.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the meantime, we are happy to tailor
courses to suit you, your friends or your organisation.
These include:
Crazy Patchwork as a One Day Course.
Consists of basic piecing (flip and sew) and embellishing. At the end of the day, you
will have a ten inch block, suitable to start a quilt or a cushion. However this day is
not as in-depth as:
Crazy Patchwork as a Two Day Course.
These days can be consecutive, any day of the week (although
Tuesday can be difficult), or you and your friends may choose to have the two days several
weeks apart. Day One consists of several piecing techniques and some embellishing.
Day Two concentrates on specialised embellishing techniques, including silk ribbon
embroidery, waste canvas and ribbon flowers and can include introduction to tatting,
elementary dyeing, copying photographs to silk (photocopier method) and a range of
techniques to suit the wishes of those attending.
The Two Day Course is ideal for those interested in making a simple vest.
In the near future we hope to be able to offer:
Hardanger
Needlelace
Tatting
Cross Stitch
Details coming soon, Please feel free to contact us if you have a particular skill
you would like to learn.

Class notes:
Normal fees are $20 / head for each day, with a minimum of six people needed for a course to go ahead. However private groups are welcome to spread the same total cost across smaller numbers.
Courses are held in the CWA Rooms, 67C Macarthur St, Sale, 10am to 3.30pm, with a half-hour break for lunch.
Lunch is normally available form nearby shops, soup and sandwiches can be arranged for weekend courses at $5/head
While a sewing machine is not essential for the Crazy Patchwork courses, if you can bring your own for the One Day Course, or Day One of the Two Day Course, you will get much more done!
Some embellishments and fabric packs are available for sale in the Co-op Shop, but you can purchase a day ticket for $5 that allows unrestricted access to our HUGE fabric bank. This includes tie pieces, after-five dresses from local op-shops and ten boxes of quilters cottons. The backing fabric and some threads/buttons etc are included in course fees.
